Description: Sponsored by the Winchester-Frederick County Historical Society, this  exhibit focuses on rare artifacts that tell the story of Winchester’s involvement with the John Brown raid. Free admission.

June 7, 14, 21, 28, 2009 – “In the Footsteps of John Brown”

Description: Join a park ranger and discover that John Brown's Raid actually covered several miles, over 30 buildings and hundreds of people. Discover some of these places and people on this two hour, two mile walking tour of Harpers Ferry.

June 28, 2009 – Lewis Washington Kidnapped by John Brown's Raiders at Beallair

Description: Join us at the Beallair manor house to discover how John Brown's Raiders kidnapped Lewis Washington, great grandnephew of our first president. Some of his slaves were also kidnapped and there are conflicting reports about whether the slaves joined the Raiders' efforts to start a rebellion. Docents will share these stories and more.

June 30, 2009 – John Brown at Hagerstown

Description: TWO EVENTS!
An afternoon outdoor concert and an evening presentation by Historian Stephen Bockmiller. The 4pm concert will feature songs based on the story of John Brown, his friends and his supporters. All material written and preformed by Greg Artzner and Terry Leonino.

The 7pm presentation will be held in the Academy Theatre Banquet and Conference Center, and will feature the story behind the capture of John Brown, Robert E. Lee and the US Marines.
